Existing compressed air systems in the United States consume an estimated 90 billion kWh per year of electricity. Even the smallest compressed air system can be a relatively large source of energy consumption and cost. Through NSTAR's participation in the Compressed Air Challenge, commercial and industrial customers can attend a series of training workshops designed to provide information to reduce compressed air operating costs and improve productivity.
