Price Response Program

All of NSTAR's Energy Efficiency programs help to maintain the integrity of our regional power supplies, as well as save customers money. But it is NSTAR's Price Response program in particular that allows you to make a real difference when it is needed most.

By participating in the Price Response program, you agree to reduce your electric use during periods of high demand when electric wholesale prices are high. Best of all, you get paid for participating. Not to mention, you are helping the regional electric system run more efficiently. Just some of the typical ways businesses reduce their energy use include: raising air conditioning set points, lowering lighting levels, shifting workloads, or using backup generators.

With Real Time Price Response, your facility voluntarily makes power reductions when wholesale market prices are high, and ISO New England pays you a minimum of $0.10/kWh for the power you are able to reduce.

Features and Benefits

  • Incentives to manage your electric consumption.
  • Options to lower your facility’s electric bill.
  • Flexibility with your consumption portfolio when negotiating with energy suppliers.
  • Sign up for Energy Link to help monitor and manage your energy consumption.

Participation Requirements
To participate, you would need to have the flexibility to reduce your electric demand by at least 100 kilowatts either within one facility or combined in multiple buildings. NSTAR can provide technical assistance to help you determine how much power you are able to reduce.

If you are interested in participating please contact NSTAR at 781-441-8253 or email richard.boehler@nstar.com.
