Introduction
What is E-Bill?
E-Bill is NSTAR's free electronic billing service. E-Bill provides our customers with a free, secure
and user-friendly means of managing their NSTAR account over the internet. By registering with
E-Bill, NSTAR customers will
enjoy paperless billing and can make one-time payments, set up a recurring payment schedule,
and view their bill history online.
How do I register with E-Bill?
Visit our E-Bill section to register. You will need to have a
current NSTAR paper bill handy upon initial registration. You will be required to enter two
pieces of information taken from your NSTAR bill in order to verify your account:
- NSTAR account number
- "Service provided to" name on your bill
I have multiple accounts with NSTAR. Can I view and pay bills for all my accounts at once?
You will have the ability to "link" all of you NSTAR
accounts into one profile. This will enable you to
quickly view bills for multiple accounts and pay monthly
bills for all accounts. Once you have registered one
account with E-Bill, select the "Linked Accounts" option
from My Profile and click on the "Link a New Account"
link. You will need the account number(s) and account
name(s) handy to link multiple accounts together.
Can I make a one-time payment online?
Yes, if you chose the "Pay Now" payment option, you will need to submit a payment amount
authorizing NSTAR to debit your checking account.
Can I schedule monthly payments to automatically debit my checking account?
Yes, if you choose to set up a recurring payment schedule, your
checking account will be
automatically debited each month.
When will my payment be debited from my checking account?
If you use the "Pay Now" payment method, your payment
amount will be debited from your checking account on the eve
of the payment date. If the payment was made on a
non-business day or after 2 p.m., the payment will be credited on the eve of the next business day.
If you have established a recurring payment schedule, your checking account will be debited 10 business days from the date your bill was rendered. Please note, a Recurring Schedule must be set up before a new bill is rendered. If you wish to pay a current balance, please use the Pay Now option and then set up a Recurring Schedule for future transactions.
What if I want to continue receiving my paper bill?
If your paper bill has been turned off and you would like to start receiving paper bills again,
simply log into E-Bill, select the "Linked Accounts" link from the left-hand navigation menu,
click "edit" and change the paperless setting.
Why do you need my checking account information?
Your checking account is required when you register for NSTAR's E-Bill features. Once registered,
