The Framingham, Natick, Sherborn Transmission Line Relocation project moved approximately three miles of NSTAR's 115 kV transmission line from existing steel structures to a new set of single steel poles.

All work was done within NSTAR's right of way, with a 230 kV transmission line remaining on the old steel structures after the 115 kV line is moved. Both lines are currently fully operational.

The project will enter its final phase in November with the removal of the de-energized, old 115 kV line. Work should be complete by mid-December.

With increased growth in the MetroWest area, relocating one transmission line and having both on different structures will help NSTAR delivery electricity reliably to the area - ensuring any problems with one of the transmission line structures does not impact both vital transmissions lines.

NSTAR's arborist and community relations representative are available should you have questions.
